If you are just going to pull it back, secure your hair at the back with a large barrette. If you have short hair, make sure your style is simple and clean looking. Do not go overboard with the styling.
When deciding on your makeup you should go with options that are flattering and simple. Some makeup is required, at the very least dust on a light colored blush, curl your eyelashes and apply one coat of mascara, and one coat of lipstick. This is good enough, but you should try to look your best. Avoid any makeup that is really bright, or flashy. Also, avoid glitter or shimmer types of makeup, you want a matte finish.

What Men Should And Should Not Wear at an Interview
Knowing what to wear and what not to wear on your big day will help you make the right first impression – that hopefully scores you the job!
Pretty much without exception, a suit is the standard men’s wear for an interview. Choose a dark colored suit such as a charcoal gray or navy blue – black will probably look too much like a tuxedo! A light pin stripe is acceptable on your suit, but an all over pattern, such as a plaid, is just way too loud! You’ll be remembered, but not in a good way. As for the style and fit of your suit, the jacket should be tailored without being too snug and the sleeves should show approximately ¼” of your dress shirt peeking out from underneath. Select a traditional two or three button suit and leave your four-buttoned or double-breasted suit at home.
As for your shirt and tie, a white button-down shirt in 100-percent cotton conveys the most conservative image but ivory and light-blue shirts are also popular. Both point and spread collars are fine for the interview. Guys often pick ties to reflect their personalities – splattered with fishes for the angler, decorated with golf balls for the golfer and so on. This is way too much information for the interview, just stick with a silk tie with a traditional pattern such as stripes, checks or dots. When tying your neck tie, it should read to the top of your waistband or belt buckle without hanging down further.
Shoes for the interview should be dark such as black, oxblood or brown and should preferably lace up – loafers are too casual for an interview. Socks should complement and blend in with the suit, no one wants to see a blinding flash of white between your shoe and pant cuff. Limit the jewelry you wear to simply a wedding ring and possibly a low-profile pair of cufflinks – no earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. Also avoid heavy cologne because it may become overbearing in a small office space.

A BIC pen vs A Nice Pen
Have you ever seen a sharp dressed man, with a Stafford shirt, walk in an office with a “bic” pen? That could almost be compared to seeing a man dressed in a suit and a pair of Nike shoes. What a sight! I guess I may have a partial obsession to nice pens! I would never buy a bic pen or anything else compared to it. I do use some pens that have 1.0 ink and they may only cost , but I do not wear those on a dress shirt. Those are pants pocket pens and don’t deserve to be seen on a nice dress shirt. I want to give you a few thoughts on this philosophy of bic pens versus a sharp pen:
1) A bic pen is to be hidden and a sharp pen is to be seen! When I use the name bic, I qualify any pen under to go in that category. You may find a nice pen for under , but you get what you pay for. I may have a couple cheap pens at home, but they are pens that are probably in a closet somewhere. I have one pen in my office, in a drawer, that I use for scrap figures or quick thoughts. However, those pens do not leave the house. When I wear a shirt with a pocket, which is usually a dress shirt, I always have a Cross or Parker pen. ready for my use if needed. I do not spend thousands of dollars on a Mont Blanc pen because I do not think pens should be that expensive. I do, however, think that every person, who uses somewhat of a business attire on a regular basis, should invest a few hundred dollars and buy about six or seven pens to use with their nice shirts.
2) Coordinate your pens! This may sound excessive, but if I use a silver belt, I use a silver pen and silver watch. The same applies to gold! I want to match in as many areas as I can and a pen adds to the sharp appearance one can have. Furthermore, I make sure my pen is straight. Have you ever seen a pen hanging crooked on a shirt? Definitely not a classy look! Make your pen appear straight and match it with your style of color that you are wearing!
3) Use it as often as you can! There is nothing classy like a person pulling out their sharp, Parker pen and signing a document. Can you picture one pulling out their bic pen and just as you go to sign something, your pen stops writing? How embarassing! Use your nice pen and keep an ink refill for your pen in your office so you keep your pen fresh.
Maybe this article sounds like a big pet peeve against bic! Actually, it’s the direct opposite! I’m advocating using a nice pen because it adds to one’s appearance and style. A pen is a tool that can enhance or diminish a person’s style! Choose a nice pen over a cheap pen!
